Play Yatzy Online — Free, Two Rulesets, With a Coach

Classic five-dice Yatzy against two computer opponents, with something most versions skip: two authentic rulesets. Play American rules (13 boxes, the +35 upper bonus, joker rules) or Scandinavian Yatzy (15 boxes with One Pair, Two Pairs and the fixed straights) — scored correctly, not relabelled. A built-in EV-optimal coach computes the mathematically best dice to keep and box to take. Free, in your browser, no download and no account.

How to play

  1. On your turn, roll all five dice, then tap dice to hold the ones you like and reroll the rest — up to three rolls total.
  2. Then score the dice into one open box. Each box is used once, so choosing where to bank is the game.
  3. Fill the upper section (Ones–Sixes) to 63 for the bonus.
  4. Highest grand total when every box is filled wins.

American vs Scandinavian rules

They are genuinely different games. In American, three/four of a kind score the whole hand, Full House is a flat 25, and straights are any run for 30/40. In Scandinavian, three/four of a kind score only the matching dice, Full House is the sum of all five, straights are the exact 1-2-3-4-5 and 2-3-4-5-6, and you also fill One Pair and Two Pairs. This build implements both properly.

A coach that plays the odds

Tap 💡 Hint and the coach runs an expectimax over your remaining rolls: it highlights the best dice to keep and names the best box to score, with the expected points. It reads only your public dice — the same information you have.
